JoomlaDay Boston 2014

Two Days, Two Ways!

This year JoomlaDay New England and JoomlaDay Boston are combining forces to bring the best possible JoomlaDay ever to the New England region. If you've enjoyed hearing the speakers and meeting other Joomla! people these past five years in southern Vermont, there will be even more for you in Boston this year. Though fewer cows.

Join us at the Microsoft NERD Center in Cambridge, Massachusetts for two days of Joomla learning, sharing, and networking! We have an exciting weekend planned, so bring your tablet, laptop and thinking cap... we are going deep!

Saturday, March 15

We have a full schedule of 17 presentations and keynotes with some of Joomla's top developers and administrators. Whatever your level, there is something for you to learn more about or discover for the first time! Lunch will be a networking opportunity, so be sure to bring your biz cards and be ready to meet some new folks!

After a great day of sessions, we invite our attendees to the first live #JParty for some Saturday evening libations and a dinner buffet. You must have your event badge and a valid ID to get in. The location will be announced after the last keynote.

Sunday, March 16

We invite you to sleep in (just a little bit) as we will begin the day at 10am. We have two all-day tracks planned:

All-Day Developers, which will be led by a PLT members, David Hurley, Michael Babker and Matt Thomas. There are sure to be some hot topics discussed as well as programming knowledge being shared. Developer Day will consist of a variety of topics including developing applications using the Joomla Framework; Building better extensions; How to contribute to the Joomla Bug Squad; Creating a Module using the new AJAX request component; Working with Custom User Data in Extensions; and many many more. Join in the development action and get your hands dirty with some real-life coding tutorials.

All-Day Administrators, featuring Dawn Russell and Ruth Cheesley. Dawn will be talking about ways a website manager can effectively address security within their Joomla! website and how to use Two-Factor Authentication. Ruth will go in-depth about using Google+ for Business. If you have any specific questions please message Ruth at google.com/+RuthCheesley and she'll do her best to answer them during the session!

We will end the event at 4pm on Sunday to give you time to see the great city of Boston!
